Kara White was born and raised in Bomoseen, Vermont. She began dancing at the age of four and began her training with VBTS under the direction of Alex and Kirsten Nagiba in 2003. Kara attended numerous summer intensives including National Ballet School of Canada, The Kirov Academy, The Washington School of Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Miami City Ballet. Her intensive with the Miami City Ballet turned into a career in 2009 when she joined the company professionally under the direction of Edward Villella. Kara has performed in many Balanchine works including Who Cares?, Symphony in Three Movements, Square Dance, and Divertimento No. 15. She also worked with renowned choreographers Alexei Ratmansky with Symphonic Dances and Liam Scarlett during his creation of Viscera. Kara has recently relocated back to Vermont and is working towards her degree. Ballet has been a very important part of Kara's life and she is excited to begin teaching with VBTS!
