Dress Code

Female attire is leotard, tights, ballet slippers; hair is secured in a bun or French twist. Male attire is tights, ballet slippers and T-Shirt. Class Size: Minimum of 7* students per class. *VBTS reserves the right to cancel class if minimum enrollment is not met.

Join us for a mini-summer intensive! This session is designed for those serious students who want to prepare and stay in shape before attending summer intensive programs. Classes include ballet and pointe technique.

Many famous ballets are fairy tales with beautiful music children love to use for dance . This camp will explore a variety of the more famous tales and will include ballet technique skills, creative movement and a project to take home. Your child will have a performance at the weeks’ end to share the experience.

Dance Camp with Annette Urbschat
July 11-July15 Monday-Friday
9:00am-12:00pm Ages 6 & 7 “Arabian Nights Camp”
The stories of 1001 Arabian Nights tell of fascinating adventures of magic, fairies, princesses, genii and treasure. Inspired by the symphonic suite 'Scheherazade' by Nikolai Rimsky- Korsakov, young dancers will explore some of these stories through creative movement and dance. A daily ballet class will develop students' dance technique. They will also prepare a colorful festival performance for their families on the last camp day. Please be sure to pack a nutritious snack for your dancer!

Dance Camp with Annette Urbschat
July 18-July 22 Monday-Friday
9:00am-12:00pm Ages 4 & 5 “Coppelia Camp”
The story of the ballet Coppelia comes to life in this camp: Students will start their day with a 60-minute ballet class, followed by immersion into the music, the story and the characters of this classic tale. Creative movement and choreography will round out the camp. A short in-house performance for family members is scheduled for late Friday morning, to offer a glimpse into the magical world of dancing dolls. Please be sure to pack a nutritious snack for your dancer!

July 25-July 29 Monday-Friday
9:00am-12:00pm Ages 4 & 5 “Nutcracker Camp” This camp is designed as a full immersion into the world of the Nutcracker ballet: Students will start their day with a 60-minute ballet class, followed by a few minutes of shared viewing of the VBT Nutcracker production on DVD, reading the story of the ballet, creating a related arts-and-crafts project and finally acting out many of the characters in the ballet in creative movement and simple choreography using the original ballet score. Please be sure to pack a nutritious snack for your dancer! |
